Scratch Your Pappy Itch at Bourbon Classic

You know what’s cooler than buying a bottle of Pappy on the secondary market, bragging about it on Instagram, and then showing it to your friends, unopened, on your shelf? Drinking it with the Van Winkles! You can do just that at the opening night of Bourbon Classic in Louisville, aptly named Top Shelf.

Top Shelf traditionally kicks off Bourbon Classic week and is back for the event’s seventh year. The exclusive experience includes toasting, roasting, and plenty of boaMe & the VWssting! Sip the famed Pappy line up with Julian & Preston Van Winkle, snack on food from Chef John Currence of City Grocery in Oxford, MS and Louisville’s Chef Mike Wajda of Proof on Main. Proof’s talented mixology team will be pouring additional selections from Buffalo Trace and serving up cocktails.

The week continues to Friday’s Cocktail and Culinary Challenge, showcasing classic and contemporary Bourbon cocktails paired with a chef’s Bourbon-themed culinary complement, Saturday’s Bourbon University, breakout classes focused on a variety of bourbon-themed topics, and TASTE, which will provide ample opportunities to sample top brands of Bourbon, food pairings from featured restaurants and Bourbon-inspired products.
