Four Roses To Celebrate 130th Anniversary in 2018

Bourbon, true love, and a corsage of roses launched the now iconic Kentucky Bourbon brand Four Roses in 1888. After surviving the ups and downs of Prohibition, World Wars, and 40 years of no domestic distribution, the folks at Four Roses are ready to celebrate. These celebrations will include special tasting events, historically based tours, a traveling archive collection of historical Four Roses memorabilia, and, of course, a commemorative 130th anniversary Limited Edition Small Batch Bourbon.

“Even after 130 years, we’re still growing as a company,” said Four Roses Master Distiller Brent Elliott. “We’re excited to celebrate the completion of the Distillery expansion project within the year, and I’m thankful for our loyal supporters who have made this success possible.”

A webpage was created to share some of the archived memorabilia digitally. Al Young, Four Roses Senior Brand Ambassador and Historian, has been compiling these items and history for years. “We have several items to show off that represent this unique Bourbon brand through the decades, including vintage bottles, glassware, advertisements and more.” Four Roses enthusiasts are also invited to share their own historical items and collections through a social media campaign and the website.

The 2018 Limited Edition Small Batch is sure to sure to quickly become a highly sought after collectible. The limited release will launch during Bourbon Heritage Month in September. No word yet on that recipe, but we look forward to tasting what Brent and his team come up with.

Personally, this writer hoped that Four Roses would find a space to include Jim Rutledge in these celebrations to honor his nearly fifty years behind that still, but inquiries turned up a negative.
